Story in the journey

Hello from Nepal. I hope to be able to communicate as best I can through this blog; giving you a better understanding of what I've been up to! Right now I am in Kathmandu (the capital of Nepal). As I think about what's happened over the last month and the stories I wish to share with you, it seems like it has been a life full of experiences. I am so thankful to have been in India and Nepal. Both countries have great places filled with amazing culture, food, and people. Sometimes things can be very overwhelming. For instance, being on a bus ride that should take 2 hours ends up being 6 hours because the bus has so many people in it. This very thing happened on my trip from the border of India to the Airport town in Nepal. It was about 95 degrees and 90 percent humidity with 50 people on a bus that should have only fit 30 max. During those times I dream about being in the US with traffic rules and regulations. I try to stay positive and upbeat about it but it is definitely hard when there is a sweaty man who's shirt is drenched rubbing against your forehead.Anyways, In all seriousness I love being in Asia. My friend Marcus's wedding was a blast but there were many adventures leading up to the big day. He lives in North East India near Darjeeling. I left my hometown in Baltimore anticipating the long flight ahead. Between the selection of movies on planes now days, and my plethora of books on my kindle I stayed very entertained. I finally made it to India just to turn around and fly from Delhi to a place called Siliguri. Upon arrival at the domestic airport, and to my dismay, it turned out that I had skipped a day when I came to India and had ended up booking my flight for the day before I arrived! So I had to buy another ticket for the day I arrived wasting about one hundred fifty bucks. I was not happy about that but after two days of traveling I finally got to Kalimpong exhausted. Finally seeing Marcus! So throughout the next weeks I helped Marcus with his coffee shop painting and stuff for the wedding. Helping with the coffee shop was okay but I feel like I did more damage than good. For example I kicked over two cans of paint two days in a row (embarrassing)! Mostly though I just hung out with Marc and tried to be the best, best man I could! We went down to Kolkata and I got my suit made which was pretty sweet. In addition to getting a suit, we also had to find matching ties. Getting things done in India is so much harder, I feel, then anywhere else! Or maybe its just the chaos and burning heat of Kolkata(Calcutta). I don't know. I cannot think of a time in the last two years that was more frustrating than trying to find these matching ties!!! We probably went to thirty different stores looking for two of the same ties! All of the shops that we went to seemed to have one of every ugly looking tie in the world. After about eight hours of shopping, we finally found a shop that would just make the ties for us. Marcus and I promptly went to McDonalds and gorged ourselves with comfort food. The wedding was beautiful, the background of the Himalayas, the simplicity of the decorations, and the exceptionally good looking best man(chuckle chuckle) made the wedding awesome. It was great to see Mike Heath (the base director of Honolulu) and Marcus's parents. Being the best man was such an honor, seeing Marcus so happy and in love with Aciino was so great. I am so happy for them, I pray that their marriage will continue to be a happy and loving relationship.

After the wedding I went with my friend Dinesh to the YWAM base in Kathmandu. It was great to be there and do some sports ministry, and go on hikes and hand out tracts to people who have never read or heard about Jesus. I was so amazed by the people there and their receptiveness to the Gospel. I was there about a week and then I went on a couple of fun trips over the weekends. On one trip I went white water rafting which was awesome. I want to go again in the future. The other trip was going bungee jumping which was one of the scariest things I have ever done in my life. I couldn't believe i did it. I am glad that while I was still in Baltimore I was able to save my money and go on these adventures!

Now here I am a month and a day in. I am anxious and just cruising, seeing friends. Doing intermittent ministry seems very unfulfilling, and creates discontent in my heart. For those of you who know me back home know I have been dreaming about getting back to China since I have left. I was going to go on some hikes and be with a few people here in Nepal, but I feel a need to get to China and start over again. I know that I have tried China before and this time I come with a confidence that I know that this is where I want to be for a while. Knowing this, if I am going to stay in China for a long while I need prayer and lots of it. I would like people to start committing to pray for me. I no longer want to feel like I am alone in my journey in reaching the people of China. I want to feel like I have a backing of prayer. I hope that you guys will pray for me as I continue to follow what I feel like God wants me to do. I'm praying that within the month I will be back in China. I will email in the next couple weeks to tell you exactly where and what is going to happen in China! I love you all

Pray that God will prepare the way for me in China.

Pray that God will provide all my needs.

Pray that God will give me longevity in China

If you would like to support in prayer or financially you can email me at
